Professor D. Prabhakaran is a cardiologist and epidemiologist by training. He is an internationally renowned researcher and is currently the Vice President- Research & Policy, Public Health Foundation of India, Executive Director of Centre for Chronic Disease Control, New Delhi, India and Professor (Epidemiology) London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, UK. In addition he holds Visiting Scientist position at Harvard School of Public Health, position of International Fellow at McMaster University, Canada and Madhu and Hari Varshney Visiting Professorship at Simon Fraser University, Canada. He is also the Head of the WHO collaborating Centre for Surveillance, Capacity building and Translational Research in Cardio‐ Metabolic Diseases in South East Asia region. He was elected as Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (London) in 2011 and Fellow of the National academy of Sciences , India in 2011. He is currently the chair of the Science committee of the World Heart Federation and the Chair, Executive Council of the International Society of Cardiovascular Epidemiology and Prevention (ISCEP). He heads the Centre for Control of Chronic Conditions at PHFI which is a joint initiative of four leading institutions (Public Health Foundation of India, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi and Emory University). This centre conducts cutting edge research in the prevention of chronic diseases in India and the developing world.

His work spans from mechanistic research to understand the causes for increased propensity of cardiovascular diseases (CVD) among Indians, to developing solutions for CVD through translational research and human resource development. He has received funding from NHLBI, Wellcome Trust, European Commission and several other international and national funding bodies. He has mentored over 50 post-doctoral and doctoral students so far. He has authored several chapters and over 500 scholarly papers with an H index of 91. Listed as the topmost researcher in Medicine in India terms of publications for the years 2009-2014 by Scopus and Department of Science & Technology, Government of India. He is the lead editor of the Cardiovascular Disease Volume of the latest Disease Control Priorities Project. He is the lead editor of Tandon’s text book of Cardiology a two volume comprehensive book on Cardiology for Indian Cardiologists and Fellows.

Prof. R Krishna Kumar

Prof. Kumar is presently the Clinical Professor and Head of the Department of Paediatric Cardiology at the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Center, Cochin. He did his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in cardiology from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. He then underwent fellowship training in paediatric cardiology from Children’s Hospital Boston, USA (1994-1996). His clinical focus is diverse because of the unique requirements of the population he serves. This includes echocardiography, catheter interventions and intensive care. His chief research interests relate to epidemiology of heart disease in the developing world and developing cost effective clinical strategies for diagnosis and treatment of paediatric heart disease in developing countries. He has published over 100 indexed original and review articles. Prof. Kumar's chief research interests relate to epidemiology of pediatric heart disease in the developing world and cost effective clinical strategies for diagnosis and treatment of pediatric heart disease in low and middle income countries. He is the co-chair of the World Heart Federation Working Group on Rheumatic Heart Disease and the current president of the Pediatric Cardiac Society of India.

Dr. Arun P Jose

Dr. Arun Jose is Deputy Director of the Centre for Digital Health, Public Health Foundation of India. Dr Jose is a physician and public health specialist by training. He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management of Reproductive and Child Health Programmes from the Indian Institute of Public Health and UNICEF, and is currently pursuing his PhD in Translational Research and Implementation Sciences at Maastricht University, Netherlands.

Dr. Jose was awarded the NIH funded Global Public Health Leader fellowship in leadership and implementation sciences at the Rollin’s School of Public Health, Emory University in the year 2016. He is a fellow of the International Society for Cardiovascular Disease Epidemiology and Prevention, and fellow of the World Heart Federation’s Emerging Leaders program. He currently leads an innovative assisted telemedicine initiative – Digisahayam – being implemented in various parts of India. He also leads capacity building programs in hypertension, cardiovascular disease and stroke for physicians in India. He was the Deputy Chair of the South & West Asia, Middle East Regional Advisory Group of the International Society of Hypertension from 2018-20 and has been country leader for the society’s May Measurement Month initiative that has screened over 4.7 million for raised blood pressure across the world and approximately 900,000 individuals in India.

Dr. Anshika Sharma

Dr. Anshika Sharma has completed her Bachelors in Dental Surgery from Krishna Dental College, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. Later, she completed her Master’s in Public Health from the esteemed College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine, University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom. During her studies at the University of Edinburgh she was actively involved as a volunteer in health promotion activities with social organizations like "Save the Child, Edinburgh" and "Life Care Edinburgh". She is working as Program Manager with Public Health Foundation of India and is associated with various digital healthcare service and education programs at Centre for Digital Health. Previously, she has worked as a Program Coordinator for training program for state governments, PSUs aimed at capacity building of their PCPs and allied healthcare workers in managing chronic conditions and providing quality care.

Ms. Nair is a Masters in HR & Marketing from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi. She has completed her PG Diploma in Public Health Services Management from IIPH-Bhubaneswar. Ms. Nair had joined PHFI in 2016 as Program Assistant and since then she has been associated with several capacity building programs like COPD & Asthma (CCCA), Evidence Based Diabetes Management (CCEBDM) & Hypertension (CCMH) program under Govt. of Madhya Pradesh. She is currently working as a Program Officer for Certificate Course in Management of CVD and Stroke (CCCS), Certificate course in Management of Hypertension (CCMH) & Cardiology & Endocrinology Masterclass program under Centre for Digital Health (CDH) at PHFI.

Ms. Arora had joined PHFI in 2015 as Program Assistant. She has also worked in several initiatives under Govt. Madhya Pradesh. She is currently working as Senior Program Assistant in the Certificate Course in Cardiovascular Disease and Stroke (CCCS), Cardiology & Endocrinology Masterclass program under Centre for Digital Health (CDH) at PHFI. She is a Bachelors in Commerce and has also completed her Post Graduate Diploma in Public Health Service Management from IIPH – Bhubaneswar. Mr. Himanshu has completed his Diploma in Pharmacy from Delhi Board of Technical Education. He did his internship in the Pharmacy Department of LokNayak Hospital, Delhi. He has also done his Bsc. in Applied Sciences from IGNOU. He joined PHFI in 2015 as a Consultant then worked as a Technical Assistant in Certificate course in Management of Hypertension (CCMH) & several other capacity building program like COPD & Asthma (CCCA), Evidence Based Diabetes Management (CCEBDM), Hypertension (CCMH) Management of Thyroid Disorder (CCMTD) & Gestational Diabetes (CCGDM) program under Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (Swasth Uttar Purv, SUP), Evidence Based Diabetes Management (CCEBDM) & Hypertension (CCMH) program under NHM Odisha. Dr Shikha Nargotra has completed her Bachelors in Dental Surgery from Institute of Dental Sciences, Jammu. Previously, she has worked with research organizations in various multicentre studies. She is currently working as Program coordinator at PHFI in Centre for Digital Health. Mr. Nair is a web & graphic design specialist with 4+ years of experience in managing complete design process, from conceptualization to delivery. He is also an expert at interdepartmental coordination and communication. His areas of interests are infographics, illustrations, cutting-edge design, typography, video editing, graphic video production & UI/UX Design – creating prototypes and wireframes. He did his Graduation in Bachelors of Computer Applications from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University in 2016. He completed his Master’s in Business Administration – Information Technology from Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University, Pune in 2019. Apart from this, he is also into YouTube and gadget reviews. He has also done trainings on web designing & Android App Development from Aptech Computer Education and NIIT. Mr. Nair has been associated with PHFI since 2016. He is currently working as a Web & Multimedia Designing Expert at the Centre for Digital Health Division, Public Health Foundation of India and takes care of all the advocacy materials and communication design.
